INSTYLE’s Plaster-In tape profile is the ideal housing for projects where the extrusion is to be plastered into a wall or other surface, in order to discreetly conceal the aluminium housing. INSTYLE LED’s Plaster-In extrusion is an aluminium extrusion manufactured to accommodate any LED tape from our range. The extrusion’s main body is 28.2mm wide and 14.5mm in depth (not including the sunken perforated flanges). It is available in 2-metre lengths as standard, and can be easily cut to any size required.
Like our other LED tape profiles, the Plaster-In extrusion is supplied with a diffused cover to allow light to shine through whilst dispersing the view of individual diodes on the LED tape inside. This gives your LED tape installation a more ‘finished’ look.
Advantages of extrusions
Fixing your LED tape into an extrusion can create a more ‘finished’ look when compared to the unhoused PCB – which is ideal if the product is clearly on show. Extrusions can help to prevent contact damage if the LED tape is positioned easily within reach. And even though they are not waterproof, extrusions can help prevent moisture. (To provide more protection against water, consider installing IP67 LED tape in the extrusions.)
Cutting and sizes
Our tube surface mount extrusions are available in 1m or 2m lengths as standard. You can simply cut the extrusion the length you require using a hack saw.
Fitting
Extrusions can be fixed into place using countersink screws, straight into the extrusion.
