Product Description

INSTYLE’s Large Surface extrusion is a surface-mounted aluminium profile with dimensions large enough to accommodate up to two LED strips side-by-side. This capacity allows specialist lighting designers to massively increase the brightness of installed LED striplights, in locations where such high brightness is required. The dimensions of our Large Surface extrusion are 36.2mm (width) and 35.9mm (depth). Like all extrusions, it can be butted together to give a continuous effect. Read more.

Because of its diffused cover and depth, the Large Surface extrusion is ideal in highly visible locations, as it emits a continuous light glow by obscuring the individual diodes that you normally see on the LED tape. (Otherwise, to give a continuous glow you would need to shine the LED tape onto an appropriate surface.)

Advantages of extrusions
Fixing your LED tape into an extrusion can create a more ‘finished’ look when compared to the unhoused PCB – which is ideal if the product is clearly on show. Extrusions can help to prevent contact damage if the LED tape is positioned easily within reach. And even though they are not waterproof, extrusions can help prevent moisture. (To provide more protection against water, consider installing IP67 LED tape in the extrusions.)

Cutting and sizes
Our Large extrusions are available in 1m or 2m lengths as standard. You can simply cut the extrusion the length you require using a hack saw.

Fitting
Extrusions can be fixed into place using countersink screws, straight into the extrusion.
