InStyle LED strips add subtle accent lighting to this beautiful contemporary-design home.
Hallway
Accent lights and highlights are just as important as a room’s main lighting… and they open up more creative possibilities too.
See the low-key light strips at the base of these glass guard panels on the landing, above the house’s striking entrance hall.
Nick, the owner, used 5-watt white LED tape (pure-white option) to add emphasis to the horizontal line of the landing’s floor.
The LED strips are installed in a cut-out run beneath the glass, to throw light upwards. (This is an alternative to using a recessed aluminium LED extrusion.) They’re controlled by three wall-mounted rotary dimmers.
The same LED tape was also used in the bathroom, framing the mirror.
Three Bedrooms
Nick fitted colour-change LED lights in the family bedrooms.
Mounted in the rooms’ covings, these 10-watt RGBW LED strips can mix a spectrum of colours and shades via an InStyle remote controller to give each room its own character.
RBGW LED strips were installed downstairs as well, adding some extra colour in the games room.
Downlights
A set of 12-watt RGBW LED downlights provides feature lighting for the sleek kitchen-diner.
Wired just like the RGBW LED strips (using standard 0.75mm 5-core cable) and managed by the same handy remote, they can produce crisp, clear white light when working, or any colour of mood lighting.
