5m LED strip light kits (or other blister pack kits)
Benefits:
- Plug and play
- No electrician required, saving cost
- Cheap
- Great effect for the money
- Great for under 5m project
- Good controller for the cost ,if less than 5m is required
- Pick up from a shop same day
Negatives:
- Connectors can be fiddly and not the correct sizes required
- Low quality LED strip with short life
- Can be unreliable
- LED controllers are limited to 5m maximum
- IR remote controllers mean line-of-sight is required between the remote and receiver
- Low quality power supply with short life
- No technical advice
- Colour batching can vary from reel to reel
- Domestic use only
Bespoke LED strip lights
Benefits:
- Long life (typically 50,000 hours)
- High brightness
- Made to exact measurements, with correct size cables / corner links
- Scaleable control gear, able to control unlimited areas / quantity of LED strip lights
- Colour batched reels from one to the next
- Technical advice from supplier
- Ideal for commercial applications
- Any control gear can be used
- Reliable
Negatives:
- Can be a couple of days delivery
- Cost can be higher than off-the-shelf kits
