Features

  • Extra-long (10m) reels
  • High grade, long lasting resistors to stop LED chip damage
  • High Quality Branded LED Chip
  • IP65 splashproof & IP67 waterproof available
  • Premium white coating for  protection of the PCB board and to stop short circuiting
  • Smooth linear effect
  • Thick 3oz PCB board for maximum heat dispersion
  • Commercial Grade LED Tape

Additionally, this product has 84 LEDs per metre (compared to 60 LEDs on our standard RGBW strips), which means a smoother light-bar effect when installed. Like all of InStye’s RGBW range, this 20-watt LED tape offers you more colour control than ever – letting you select every shade of the spectrum by mixing red, green and blue… while giving you the option of a perfect white light from dedicated white LEDs. That extra neutral white chip in each LED also opens up an unlimited range of pastel colours that the three primary colours couldn’t create on their own, as well as the ability to mix your preferred shades of white.

With a total wattage of 20w per metre, this LED tape will produce a massive 1440 lumens per metre when all four colours are at full brightness.

Drawing 24 volts, INSTYLE’s LED tape is 12mm wide and 3mm in depth. We only use commercial-grade components, including branded high-quality Epistar SMDs and thicker 3-ounce printed circuit boards to efficiently disperse heat. This means our LED tapes really do achieve a genuine lifetime of 70% @ 50,000 hours use.

RGBW LED tape is available on 10m reels, with no minimum order. INSTYLE can assist your project from start to finish, with advice and technical help – we’ll even supply your LED tape in easy-to-fit kit form, pre-cut and soldered to the lengths you need.

All of INSTYLE’s products are in stock with a 2 year warranty.

INSTYLE’s LED tape is ideal for homes, restaurants, clubs, bars, hotels, and signage. And the list doesn’t end there – with the complete control it offers, this RGBW LED Tape can be used anywhere!

Controlling your LED Tape

INSTYLE LED has the ultimate choice of professional control gear for your LED tape. Choose from:

Which driver will I need?
To work out what transformer you require this is quite simple. You take the amount of LED tape you have in metres and x this by the wattage of the LED tape you have, again per metre. For example 7m of 4.8w LED tape: 7 x 4.8w = 33.6w Therefore you would require a 60w transformer. For more information, see our support page on LED power supplies and their output.
Will my project need any other accessories?
If you’ve ordered your LED tapes cut to custom lengths from us, with all the starter-leads and flexible leads for corners that your project requires, then you’ve most likely got everything you need already! But for some installations, the following accessories may prove useful:
Which wattage do I need?
Deciding on which wattage you require is all down to what kind of application you are fitting the LED tape in. The 5w and 10w is ideal to be used as feature lighting. Lighting to highlight areas, as a secondary lighting. Ideal for covings, drop down ceilings signage etc. to give a smooth halo effect. The 10w would be preferred to the 5w for these applications if there is a high amount of ambient lighting. The 12w and 20w is ideal to be used as general lighting or as feature lighting for areas larger than covings etc. For example washing down front bars / back bars / under kitchen cabinet lighting as ‘working light’. For more information, see our support page discussing how bright your LED tape needs to be.
When do I need to use the IP67 Heat-shrink?
IP67 Heat-shrink type is required in areas where you will need resistance to water. For example bathrooms, kitchens and exterior. The heatshrink version is waterproof but it cannot be submersed, for example in a pond. The IP67 Heat-shrink is a protective coating over the LED tape, this makes it easy to wipe to clean etc. For more information, see our support page describing the waterproof LED strip light options we offer.
What does RGB/W Stand for?
RGBW stands for Red, Green, Blue and White. These colours are used by the RGBW tape to mix the millions of different colour combinations that can be created using this tape. RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue. These colours are used in the RGB tape which helps create the millions of different colour combinations that can be output using this tape.
What are RGB + Dual-White LEDs?
RGB + Dual-White LEDs offer the colour-mixing of 3-colour RGB (red/blue/green) plus dual-white (warm & pure shades) light palettes, all combined in a single diode. Together they provide ultimate flexibility for white and coloured lighting.
What are ‘commercial grade’ LED strip lights?
InStyle LED manufacture and supply commercial-grade LED strip lights – which means our products are high quality and built to last, using only premium components and branded LEDs:
  • Brighter LEDs
  • Vibrant and consistent colours
  • Accurate life expectancy
  • Sturdy PCBs
  • Excellent resistor management
Find out more on our ‘commercial-grade LED’ support page.
How do I wire LED Tape?
For this type of LED tape you will require just a transformer to get this working. You connect the 2 core starter lead coming out of one end. This is then wired to the transformer, red wire goes to + and the black wire is wired to -. The 2 core cable can be extended as required for you to mount the transformer as far away as required. For more information, choose one of these links for support and advice on how to install either simple or larger LED tape projects.
How do I create custom lengths? Can I cut my LED strips?
All of our LED strips are cuttable. Each LED strip can be cut at various points, either 50mm, 100mm, 150mm or 200mm depending on which LED-strip product you have. We can either cut the lengths to your specific instructions, or you can do this yourself. Once the LED strips are cut, you will need to join them to a transformer or to another piece of LED strip. You can solder your tapes, or if you prefer we supply two types of easy-click connector clips instead. We have starter-lead clips, which clip to the end of your LED tape and provide a cable which you can connect to a transformer or dimmer. The second type of connector clip is a tape-to-tape clip, which can used used to easily join two LED strip lengths together.
How do I attach the LED Strip light to a surface?
You can simply counter sink screw straight into the extrusion or by using the supplied brackets.
Does the RGB tape come with a controller?
RGB Tape and the controllers are sold separately, if you purchase RGB Tape with a wireless controller we can set them up and make sure they are working together so you can just install the tape. For more information, see our support page on RGB and RGBW LED controllers.
Can I make White or Warm White with RGB
Yes you can mix the colours to get a white or warm white colour.
How flexible are LED strip lights?

LED tape is very flexible indeed. So it’s ideal for use in a wide variety of applications – including signage.

And the heatshrink used to seal and protect our waterproof LED tape is as flexible as InStyle’s standard strip lighting. Even with full heatshrink coating, you’ll be able to bend and twist your LED tapes to the shapes you need.

What is ‘colour-changing’ LED tape?

Colour-change LEDs let you create any shade of light, by mixing multiple colours from a single LED.

‘RGB LED tape’, the original colour-change lighting, housed three separate light-emitting chips within each diode – red, green and blue. This combination enabled the user to mix of the three primary colours in order to produce any shade of light. (Including white light, when the three colours were equally mixed.)

Adding a fourth white light-emitting chip led to the introduction of more advanced ‘RGBW LEDs’. This opened up the ability to create pastel colours by adding some white light to the three primaries, as well as offering an unmixed warmer white.

Most recently, we’ve seen the arrival of ‘dual-white (CCT) LEDs’. These combine cool-white and warm-white chips to enable the creation and control of a huge palette of white light shades.

With colour-change LEDs, you’re in complete control… simply set your perfect lighting, and then sit back and chill!

How you’ll control your LED strip lights will depend on the type of LED controller you’ve selected. Every one of InStyle’s LED controllers offers a full colour palette (and will also let you select a pure static colour option, if you prefer).

Why Choose LED Tape Lights?

Our LED strip lights are available in a wide choice of brightness levels. And they’re flexible enough to fit any space, so there’s no limit to the applications and projects you can use them for.

LED strips are perfect for signage, restaurants, hotels, bars, LED tape for cars, and for your home. And you can get all of our strip lights in IP65 (splashproof) or fully waterproof versions, so they’re ideal for both inside and outside LED lights.

We offer a wide variety of LED tape colours – from warm whites to pure white, and red, green, amber or blue LED light strips. Or choose our RGB or RGBW (colour changing) LED strips, which will let you mix any shade you want when linked with a controller.

LED strip lights are very easy to install, because they’re supplied with 3M self-adhesive under a protective backing. Simply peel and stick!

Even better, InStyle offers great technical support and installation tips for all your LED projects. Why not check out the how-to guides on our support page and our what-where pages (detailing specific LED projects/applications), or simply give us a call? You’ll get lots of useful advice and answers to your LED questions.
