InStyle LED goes to the movies with the hot new British sci-fi thriller Let’s Be Evil.

When Jonathan Willis, the film’s producer, was looking for the perfect way to light a former nuclear bunker location, he called InStyle. We were glad to help out.

InStyle supplied the production with 240 metres of 15-watt 24-volt commercial-grade RGB (colour-changing) LED tape and 35 100-watt 24-volt transformers.  These products were used in conjunction with controller units imported from the US, designed to prevent lights from flickering when seen on film.

The LED strips were cut to short lengths of around 1-2 metres for maximum effect, and were individually controlled for each scene.

You can get a sneak preview of the way our equipment contributed to the film’s striking visuals in these behind-the-scenes pics – all snapped inside the film’s primary location, the former nuclear bunker at Brentwood’s Kelvedon Hatch.

Let’s Be Evil was crowdfunded through The Ideas Factory, one of the UK’s leading angel investment networks. Directed by Martin Owen and with a cast that includes Isabelle Allen (Les Miserables) and Kara Tointon, the film is scheduled for release in autumn.
